That's not a cost-effective option when you're dealing with a 10 drive RAID 6 array.Every day you worry you'll end up spending a couple of weeks rebuilding a lost drive.It really is insane how something so fragile still remains as a popular data storage medium.

I dropped my external off a desk today and now something instead is off because its clicking and wont read. I wouldnt say its dead or crashed since its just a matter of opening it up and fixing the damaged mechanics from another hard drive. Im just hoping I can find a experienced person locally who can do this for me for cheap opposed to sending it to a company and pay $500 plus. I mean im facing a years for of data loss that I would love to have back but not too pressed to spend that cash
