Not my field, but I have read a lot on diabetes Type 1. The idea of the autoimmune system destroying the islets of Langerhans is in fact true. It's fantastic to know that scientists are getting close to a treatment, be it prevention, transplant or stem cell research. Either way I find these studies useful and could save lots of state money and could make life more comfortable to these people.
